Ring of Beara Trip
Ring of Beara is a spectacular scenic drive along the Beara Pennisula which is to the south of Ring of Kerry. Beara Pennisula is the quieter of the Pennisulas down the south- west of Ireland due to the fact tour buses don’t go there.
Ring of Beara
Some highlights of the day trip on the Ring Of Beara are as follows:
- Kenamre Town, a Multiple winner of The Tidy Towns competition and a favourite of Rick Steves.
- Healy Pass, a corkscrew drive with fantastic views of the Valleys below.
- Allihies, where a Copper Mine Museum tells the unlikely story of an industry that once dominated the area. Artefacts like old drills, boots and the remains of abandoned towers and engine houses lie in stark contrast to the surrounding fields, beaches and fuchsia-strewn country roads.
- Castletownbere, the biggest white fish port in Ireland.
